EVO ICL

For patients who don't qualify for or don't want laser vision correction, glasses and contacts may feel like the only path to clear vision.

EVO ICL gives patients a permanent vision correction option without removing corneal tissue.

The first in Rhode Island to perform EVO ICL, Galler Eyecare Associates continues to offer this service to our Providence, RI, patients.

After struggling with poor eyesight since childhood, Joe Jonas now has 20/20 vision thanks to the EVO ICL.

What Is EVO ICL?

The EVO ICL is an Implantable Collamer® Lens (ICL) placed between your iris and cornea. This form of vision correction works similarly to a removable contact lens to help correct vision in patients with nearsightedness or astigmatism. However, unlike traditional contact lenses the EVO ICL is a permanent solution to vision problems.

We Were the First To Offer Providence EVO ICL

/

Dr. Galler was the first doctor in Rhode Island to offer EVO ICL as a method of vision correction and continues to treat Providence patients with this form of vision correction.

The Process of EVO ICL

EVO ICL has been an effective method of vision correction since 1992.

Consulting With Our Doctor

Meet with Dr. Ezra L. Galler at our Providence office to discuss the EVO ICL procedure and see if this option is right for you. He will perform a series of tests to make sure you qualify.

Preparing for Surgery

On the day of your procedure, we will administer eye drops to numb your eyes for a virtually painless experience. We will also administer pupil-dilating eye drops so our doctor can clearly see your eye structures.

Creating the Incision

A small incision is made to insert the lens between the iris and cornea. The incision is so small that sutures aren't needed after.

Inserting the Lens

Dr. Galler will fold the lens to insert it smoothly through the incision. He will then adjust the position of the EVO ICL.

Healing From Surgery

The difference in your vision is apparent almost immediately, but you will need to have someone drive you home after your procedure. Dr. Galler will give you eye drops to help the healing process.

EVO ICL vs. LASIK

EVO ICL may be right for you if you don't qualify for LASIK or are nervous about a laser vision correction procedure. Here are some key differences between the two procedures:
